4 easy ways to style a graphic tee

“Graphics on my white tee, yup my white tee,” I can’t even… I am LOLing right now. HAHAHA, hopefully, everyone else gets the song reference! If not, lets chat and go for a cruise and I’ll enlighten you on the realness of the 2000’s hip-hop 😂

Do you ever get into a mood and only wanna listen to throwbacks? I swear it happens about every month for about a week; all I can hear is throwback music, from hip-hop throwbacks to classic rock. Anyone else get like this? Especially with top 40 right now, I feel like I need some throwbacks for the fall. A lot of the songs bring me back to childhood or childhood memories with the family, which for me, is always great. One cool thing I get to do is go to the Rolling Stones Concert here in Seattle. Now, the stones were not the biggest band in my era, but my family is a big fan, and it was a once in a lifetime concert to attend!

Concerts are my favorite, especially with fantastic performers like The Stones. One thing that I always do when I go to shows it gets a tee. I do this because as a kid, my mom and dad always wore these great band tees or graphic tees that I wish I had and of course by the time I was able to style and wear them, they were either ‘goodwill’ or thrown away (so bad y’all don’t throw clothes out recycle). So I told my self that every concert that I go to, I have to get a tee so that one day if I have a teenage daughter ( scary payback coming my way if I have a daughter) she can have and wear like I always wanted to do!

Graphic tees have recently become such a staple piece in my wardrobe. Whether I am dressing for work or a night out on the town, I feel my best self in them. They are so versatile and so comfortable. I hate dressing up and feeling uncomfortable, and comfort is essential y’all!

I want to share my favorite ways to style a graphic tee and my favorite places to buy them without breaking the bank cuz ya know Ballin on a budget.

1. Wear them with trousers to

As of late, work has started back up for me, which means work attire. UGH, sometimes I feel like it is such a drag to dress in that “professional” dress. So graphic tees are my way of adding some flair to the everyday work week. For my job, I am not supposed to wear jeans, but shhh, I do from time to time. When I am not wearing jeans, I wear trousers. The typical pants I wear are high waisted and cropped. Like these pictured! Anywho, pairing work trousers with a graphic tee are a great way to continue to look profesh, but still, be what you can wear out to dinner that night! Love an outfit you can wear for multiple occasions! If I am wearing trousers, more professional on the bottom, I like to keep my top a little more casual, and this is a perfect way to achieve that! I recently found a pair of faux leather trousers. They are from H&M and are amazing. I love pairing my graphic tees with them as well!

2. JEANS DUH!

One way that I love to style a graphic tee is with jeans or shorts if it is summertime. Pairing jeans and a graphic tee can be such an easy way to spend a weekend at brunch or out and about running errands! What is also great about wearing them with jeans or shorts you can throw on a blazer to add some chicness to it or wear it in the office, if jeans are acceptable there! Easy way to take it from work to play as well! Throw on some boots, and it is a smooth transition from sandals in the summer to the dreaded fall ( i am obsessed with summer and wish I could live in a state where it was summer year long). Or I love styling them with some sneakers! Depending on the color of the shirt determines what color of sneakers, but most likely, I like a good white. I recently bought a new pair of Vans. I wore Vans alllll through high school, my most favorite pair were my purple vans I legit wore them every day (“Lizzie McGuire you are an outfit repeater” can we take a second and rejoiiiiiceee that she is doing a REBOOT!!!! AHHHHHH Disney take all my money). I haven’t worn Vans since high school and was needing the right casual shoe and found myself wondering around Famous Footwear and left with some white Vans. They make a great addition to wearing a graphic tee for that casual weekend look.

3. SKIRTS, SKIRTS, SKIRTS, everybodyyyyyyy!!!

I would throw on some over the knee boots now that its fall!

Another way I like to style my graphic tees are with skirts! Lately, I have been getting back into skirts, as a kid, I loved them, especially a cute one! For me, at least, I like to keep my skirts more on the casual side, so throwing a graphic tee with them lets me stay relaxed with the feeling of being put together. The newest skirt I have added to my wardrobe is a corduroy maroon one! Corduroy is also another 90’s come back LOL still iffy on that one, but this skirt was perfection! Wearing the tee with a skirt is a fun way to feel dressed up without having actually to be “dressed up.”

Speaking of skirts!!! I love a ribbed midi skirt! I recently purchased on from Target on grey, and I am OBSESSED and guess what I like to style it with? Did someone say GRAPHIC TEE? Hahaha. But seriously, styling the skirt with a graphic tee, I got so many compliments and questions about where everything was from. It is a chic way to dress and feel EXTREMELY comfortable!

4. Blazers

Now that we are in full swing of fall, I love styling a graphic tee with a cute jacket. Lately,  I have been really into blazers and fur teddy coats! With blazers being more “dressy” I like to mix it with a less dressy top, can you sense a theme here? Biz Cas anyone? Seriously, I just found this fantastic red blazer from Zara, and it works perfectly with a graphic tee and a black pair of jeans and booties or for a night out paired with ripped jeans and heels. Styling the graphic tee makes me feel amazing, and I think that is an essential part of fashion. You should be comfortable and confident. I like wearing a blazer with my graphic tee and a pair of ripped jeans and booties. This is a natural look for day or night, planning a date night after work? EASY! Touch the make-up up and head out because girl you look GEWD! I probably won’t wear ripped jeans to work but have them with me to change!

There are many ways you can style a graphic tee, and these are a few of my favorite! Let me know any ways you like to style a tee or if you try one of the ways! Take a pic and tag me. I would love to see y’all style a graphic tee!!!
